Welcome to mossy hollow

Hello! We are Allie, Dan, and Cedar, and this is our home. When we first moved here, we knew we wanted to surround ourselves with people who enjoy engaging with each other and the land in meaningful ways. We hope that Mossy Hollow can be a place for all of that! Here’s a bit about who we are:

Dan is a teacher with a background in outdoor education and has worked for years with children and adults with special needs. More recently he has completed trainings in pranayama breathwork, psychedelic space holding, and mindfulness. He loves outdoor adventures of all kinds and in all seasons.

Allie is a forest school mentor, a Montessori teacher for early childhood, and a student of herbal medicine. She has worked in alternative education in a variety of settings from forest schools to Waldorf classrooms to parent and child programs. She loves embroidery and nature based handcrafts.

Mossy Hollow started as a campsite with a canvas bell-tent that we offered to guests as a quiet getaway. Not long after and with lots of help, we had the opportunity to put up a beautiful Mongolian yurt in our woods. This allowed us to offer more comfortable forest stays year round, and to have an indoor space to hold gatherings and workshops. We are both craftspeople, and so it felt natural for us to begin sharing our skills with the community in small ways. We are now keen to welcome other mentors and craftspeople to the land to share skills and facilitate workshops too!
